The Fallen Patriot Fund of The Mark Cuban Foundation was established to help families of U.S. military personnel who were killed or seriously injured during Operation Iraqi Freedom. The fund now supports the families of service men and women, first responders who were killed or seriously injured in the line of duty.

Within that group, grant recipients will be selected in accordance with criteria established by The Mark Cuban Foundation.
As the guidelines of the fund are to provide for relief from immediate financial distress, those who are staying on permanent active duty despite their injuries are not eligible for a grant from the fund.

The goal is to relieve the financial pressures that come with losing a spouse or parent. The money will be distributed initially to reduce or resolve immediate needs.
We will begin distributing funds based on need within weeks of the first receipt. Funds will be distributed directly to the families, or in some cases we will pay an obligation of the family, such as a mortgage payment or utility bill directly to speed up the process.
